'Can't believe what I'm seeing', 'Hall of Shame' - Man City fans savage Rodri display in 3-2 win v RB Leipzig

Man City fans have ripped into Rodri after giving his “worst ever” performance for the club in their 3-2 Champions League win against RB Leipzig on Tuesday night (28 November).

Pep Guardiola’s side secured top spot in Group G with a stunning second half comeback with goals from Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez after Lois Openda’s first half brace for the German side.

However, the first half was one to forget for the Spaniard who was often dispossessed and frequently gave the ball away with missed placed passes.

Rodri is regularly touted as one of City’s best and most essential players, but fans were gobsmacked to see the 27-year-old put out such a lacklustre showing.

Citizens have taken to social media to let him know his typically world-class standards were in the gutter at the Etihad and they were stunned by what they saw.

This fan slammed Rodri’s outing as a “disaster class”.

One fan felt he needed to be taken off the pitch at half time and placed into City’s “hall of shame”.

This supporter claimed the players were not invested in the tie having already qualified for the knock-out rounds, but Rodri specifically had his worst ever display for the club.

One supporter couldn’t believe what he was seeing from the former Atletico Madrid man.

Some fans were so aggrieved with Rodri that they were calling for frozen-out midfielder Kalvin Phillips to take his place.

One fan was particularly unimpressed with Rodri’s appalling ball retention against RB Leipzig.

One fan claimed Rodri’s “stinking” performance proved he needed a rest after playing 1446 minutes already this season.

This fan was baffled by the team’s poor performance and slammed the likes of Rodri for “sleeping” during the game.
