'Erik ten Hag should be sacked tonight' - Man United fans react to 'total humiliation' that's left them 'sick'

Man United fans are calling for Erik ten Hag to be sacked following their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils suffered a heavy defeat to the Tyneside club just days after being humiliated by arch-rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.

United now find themselves out of the League Cup and in eighth place in the league table after a disappointing start to the 2023/24 season.

Ten Hag has now lost eight out of United’s opening 15 matches this season.

As revealed by Football Insider (1 November), it would cost the United hierarchy over £15million in compensation payouts if they were to sack Ten Hag this season.

Ten Hag defended his position at the club after his side were booed off the pitch on Wednesday night – “I am a fighter and I know it is not always going up,” he said.

Ten Hag joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 but could become the sixth manager to be sacked at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

United fans made their feelings clear on X, formerly known as Twitter, with many supporters wanting the Dutchman to lose his job.

This supporter claims Ten Hag was ‘lucky’ that United’s rivals were underperforming last season, accusing the manager of not getting the best out of any player.

Some even wanted Ten Hag to be sacked on the spot after United’s defeat to Newcastle.

Others believe Ten Hag should be sacked due to his signings since joining the club.

This supporter went as far as calling Ten Hag ‘the most useless manager in the 21st century’…
