'Disgusting behaviour' - Liverpool fans turn on Darwin Nunez after Fulham win

Liverpool fans on social media are angry at Darwin Nunez for constant diving during their 4-3 win over Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds left it late to claim all three points against the Cottagers with goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo sealing the victory.

The result means that Liverpool have leapfrogged Manchester City to go second in the Premier League table just two points behind leaders Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp opted to start Nunez as his central striker alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, but the Uruguayan striker failed to impact the scoreline despite playing the full 90 minutes.

Instead, Nunez was criticised on social media for diving, with the 24-year-old going to ground on multiple occasions in an attempt to win a penalty.

Referee Stuart Atwell waved away Nunez’s penalty appeals but didn’t book the striker for simulation.

The criticism of Nunez comes just a week after Man City boss Pep Guardiola held a heated discussion with the striker following the draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were critical of their striker, suggesting he needs to cut the diving out of his game.

Many supporters think their No.9 was lucky to escape a yellow card – or five.

Some fans were pleading with Klopp to replace Nunez with Cody Gakpo after his ‘non-stop diving’.

The criticism continued with others calling Nunez’s diving ‘horrible’ and ‘disgusting’.
