Wenham can't believe Tottenham fans who 'don't rate' Moura after 'unbelievable' moment

Lucas Moura will be a vital asset for Tottenham if he can repeat his performance against Norwich over the coming weeks.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Moura, 29, scored a long-range goal against Norwich on Sunday (5 December) to set his side on the way to a 3-0 win.

This was his first Premier League goal of the season at the 13th attempt.

As quoted by journalist Jonathan Veal, Antonio Conte demanded more goals from the attacker after the game.

Wenham insists when Moura is on form, there are few better players than him in the Tottenham side and claimed Conte’s trust in him “speaks volumes”.

“Unbelievable goal, you’re looking at goal of the month already,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That direct running style causes problems for anybody. When he’s on his game like that, you can’t stop him.

“He always plays 90 minutes and constantly delivers, which is more than can be said for some of our players.

“I’m delighted yet another manager has come in and instantly picked him. Some fans don’t rate him, I don’t know why.

“This is a top-five manager in the world picking Moura and playing him as a number 10, even though he’s a winger.

“It speaks volumes for me. He’s trusted by Conte and Moura repaid him.

“He should score more goals, that’s fair. I think he’s been unfortunate on that front this season.

“I want to see more of the same now, hopefully he can find that really good form we know he is capable of.”

In other news, Tottenham are preparing for the “biggest window in their history”, with 10-plus deals in the pipeline.
