Kieran Maguire drops intriguing Man City FFP claim as 'fresh revelations come to light'

Man City won’t be any more concerned about their 115 FFP charges despite facing new £30million accusations.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about City’s ongoing investigation into financial breaches.

As per the Daily Mail, the treble winners have been accused of accepting £30million from an individual in Abu Dhabi disguised as sponsorship payments.

City are accused of accepting two £15million payments between 2012 and 2013 which turned out to be ‘disguised equity funding’.

The alleged payments are believed to be part of the 115 charges included in the Premier League’s investigation.

The information was uncovered by the makers of a YouTube film who gained access to a 2020 Uefa report on City’s finances.

Maguire insists the focus of the investigation has to be on how long it will take the Premier League to complete their investigation into the 115 charges.

The fresh revelations that have come to light really add nothing to the 115 charges that Man City have been facing for a few months now,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

There is no doubt that the focus of those charges has been on disguised owner contributions and this appears to be one of them.

I don’t think Man City won’t be any more or less concerned having seen this data.

I’m sure they’re already aware of the accusations and the nature of them, therefore it will be business as usual for City.

How long it is going to take to resolve these 115 charges is the key issue that is occupying the minds of everyone in football at present.
