Erling Haaland in furious bust-up with Tottenham coach as he's held back by Man City staff
Erling Haaland left the pitch in a rage at the end of Man City’s 3-3 thriller against Tottenham on Sunday and told a member of the Spurs staff “f*** off”.
The Norwegian striker had been left furious by a late call from referee Simon Hooper and was then caught up in a bust-up with a coach from the north Londoners.
Haaland swore at the Tottenham man – twice appearing to yell ‘f*** off’ to the opposition bench – and had to be held back by City coaching staff to prevent the incident escalating further.
City were held at home by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening, as they failed to win a third consecutive Premier League match.
Dejan Kulusevski rescued a late point for Ange Postecoglou’s side at Etihad Stadium with a brave header that rewarded Spurs for their adventurous approach.
It was a frustrating game for Haaland, who failed to get his name on the scoresheet and missed a sitter when presented with a golden opportunity by Bernardo Silva.
Tensions boiled over in the final minutes of the game, when Haaland released Jack Grealish through on goal.
The Norwegian had been fouled by Emerson Royal, but sprung back up and released Grealish. Hooper had indicated for an advantage to City, while Grealish was onside from the pass, but he still blew his whistle to signal for a City free-kick.
With the English scorer one-on-one, that sent City players into a fit of rage towards the official.
