Arnaut Danjuma decision could spark 21-yr-old's Tottenham exit - expert

Paul Robinson has claimed Bryan Gil will exit Tottenham permanently if Arnaut Danjuma impresses during his loan spell.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said that Gil, 21, is not Premier League ready and is not fancied by manager Antonio Conte.

On 30 January, Gil joined Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season.

It is the second successive season the winger has left Spurs on a temporary deal.

Antonio Conte bolstered his attack with the signing Danjuma from Villarreal on loan in January.

Tottenham have the option to buy the ex-Bournemouth forward at the end of the season.

Robinson suggested Gil may have played his last game for the club.

“His game time has always been limited,” he told Football Insider.

“He got a few games over Christmas because of the long-term injury to Lucas Moura. But, since then Spurs have hijacked Everton’s move for Danjuma and have sent Bryan Gil out on loan. That shows you what they think of Bryan Gil.

“He looks a bit lightweight and short of match sharpness for me. He does not look like a Premier League player that is ready to go. The manager clearly doesn’t think he is ready. His opportunities are looking very limited.

“It would not be a huge loss if he left permanently. A lot will rest on how Danjuma does between now and the end of the season. If Danjuma does well, I can see them signing him permanently and allowing Bryan Gil to leave.

“I just haven’t seen enough from Gil in the games that he has played.”
