Newcastle star Tino Livramento to 'look at the possibility' of sensational swap - expert

Tino Livramento will look at the possibility of switching international allegiances to Scotland after his exceptional Newcastle form.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa and Tartan Army defender Alan Hutton claimed it was “crazy” that the full-back is eligible for three nations: England, Scotland and Portugal.

The 21-year-old has impressed for Eddie Howe’s side this season despite limited appearances but played the full 90 minutes in League Cup wins to Man City and Man United, earning an assist against the latter.

The former Southampton star has played for all England youth side from the under-15s level but is yet to be handed his first senior cap by Gareth Southgate.

Hutton admitted that Scotland are blessed with quality full-backs but suggested manager Steve Clarke will certainly be aware of the £32million man.

“It’s crazy,” he told Football Insider.

“But you can’t shut any doors for a top football player.

“I know Steve Clarke will have been aware of this for a long period of time.

“He can play in a number of positions. Full-back is a position where Scotland are blessed at the moment on both sides.

“I know he can play higher up, so I’m sure it’ll be something he looks into but I don’t think you can go against what the squad’s done and who’s got them to the finals next year.

“We have to stand by those players, but it doesn’t matter who you are if you’ve got duel nationality, Livramento will still look at that possibility.”
