'Something Rangers will need to look at' - Hutton reacts to 'scary' Luis Palma display
Rangers will need to keep an eye on Luis Palma after his “scary” performance for Celtic against Aberdeen on Sunday (12 November).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers and Scotland defender Alan Hutton hailed the £3.4million summer signing and claimed he is improving quickly at Parkhead.
Celtic fans were amazed as the Honduras international bagged a second-half penalty and a hattrick of assists in the 6-0 thrashing of the Dons and earned his seventh goal and eighth assist of the season in all competitions.
The Hoops maintained the eight-point gap ahead of Rangers and signed off before the international break with an emphatic win, healing the wounds from their own 6-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Hutton was amazed by Palma’s “pivotal” display but warned his former side to be mindful of the 23-year-old.
“He’s definitely up there as one of their signings of the summer,” he told Football Insider.
“Celtic fans have been waiting to see what he’s about. It always takes time, especially coming from a different country, it takes time to settle in.
“When he plays on that left-hand side, he’s got the ability to cut in. He’s scored some wonder goals already.
“He can cut in either way, down the line and have a shot. He can also pick the right pass, whether it be a cross or an intelligent slip with the ball.
“The front line they have at the moment, they’re always moving and looking to link up with each other.
“Moving forward, he’s going to be a real danger for any defence.
“It’s something Rangers will need to look at because he’s pivotal in anything Celtic do.
“He seems to just be getting better. The more time he’s getting to bed in, he seems to be getting better each week which is a scary thought.”
